I'd like to have 5 kids, 2 boys and 3 girls. Very important, the 1st one should be a boy!

Mehdi Imran
Leila Maryem
Zayneb Selma
Selsabil Amel
(twins)
Adem Abderrahman

If I had only 3, I would like them to be 2 boys and 1 girl, if I had 2 then a boy and a girl. If I couldn't get any frown then I would adopt some. What would life be without kids?! Bébé nounours coeur

Woah, 5!

I would like 3! 2 girls, & a boy. (I would love 3 girls..but I think that'd be a bit hard to cope with, plus I'm sure my future husband would want a son.)

They'd be called (not sure on middle names yet, may have to let my future hubby decide that as I'll be so adimant on first names!) :

Charlie
Ella
Olivia

Then if I did have the 3rd girl, she'd be called Ava.

Nice names! I know 5 is alot but I know lots of people with 5 kids! My friend's mother is divorced and has got 5 children aged 14 to 7, 2 girls (including one from a first marriage) and 3 boys. She's been bringing the up alone for about 4 years, I don't know how she manages that!

My boyfriend and I have agreed on 6, but I'd happily have more than that. (Sometimes I joke and say I'd like to outdo the Duggars. He says "...we'll see." Haha.)

sbelhaj, why is it so important that the first is a boy?

Everyone on here wants a lot, so far I have the lowest! smiling smiley

I would love a large family, but I also think a not so huge one will be nice, then I can leave larger age gaps inbetween each child. I want 3-4 years between each child, so I can savour each 'baby' stage of life.

I would love to have 4 kids!

First a boy, Dominic Evan, after my mothers maiden name. I want to have a boy first because I always wanted an older brother myself smiling smiley

Second, twin girls, Scarlett Rose & Everleigh Rae. I love both of those names, so classic and modern at the same time. And I always wanted a twin sister, haha.

Last, another boy, Asher Stephen, after my father. I love boys being the babies of the family, because he can have have a big brother to protect him and older sisters to teach him smiling smiley

And that, ladies and gents is my dream family!

Steph - We both may have a Charlie then, and maybe even an Ava too!

zoekeke - wowww! Are you even allowed to adopt that many kids? I think they have some limit as if there's too many children in the family they may not meet the needs of all the children.

I have seen a website for a woman who has adopted 26 children-- and all of them have special needs. There is no limit; you just need to be able to pass the homestudy and be approved. There are lots of kids that need to be adopted.

A lot of families struggle because they're picky about the kids they want. A lot of people say "I want a child that looks like me" or something like that. "I want a newborn baby" "I want a kid with no disabilities". Things like that.

I remember reading something about the actor, Hugh Jackman, and his wife. They have two adopted kids---Oscar and Ava. And apparently, they got them very fast because the kids are biracial, and apparently a lot of people don't want biracial kids. Which is very sad.

There are LOADS of older kids and kids with disabilities that need to be adopted. In the US in 2006, there were 129,000 kids waiting to be adopted.

Oh I understand now..it's like the whole idea of, 'deisgner babies,' with the new cystic fibrosis scans etc.

Woah that's a lot of children! Though I have to admit, I wouldn't want to take a child above the age of 4 years old, as I think it's sad to miss out on the beginning of their life, and I'd want them to be settled and feel welcomed into the family before they get too old and so count your house as 'home.'

Yeah, the whole designer baby thing..is horrible.

Also I read in a magazine they've opened up a clinic (can't remember the country) where people who want babies, pay women to get pregnant for them, and then pay for them to live in the clinic. Buying children is awful. Plus why would you give up your life to keep having kids..for other people? Crazyyyy.

My ideal number would be 4. 2 girls and 2 boys. I think I would adopt the last 2 as well because there are so many children out there without parents that it seems mean for me to not help at least one of them, especially if you have many children.
But if I didn't have lots of money when the time came and may not be able to give 4 children everything they need, I would want 2 children. If this was the case (which I hope it won't be, because I love large families) I would want a boy and then a girl.
I would name them and have them in this order:

James Edward
Lilia Grace- twin with Juliet
Juliet Claire- twin with Lilia
Henry John (John after my dad)

Growing up in a set of three, I know usually two of them will team up against the other. Siblings usually fight no matter what. wink

So I think I'd prefer an even number. If they're going to argue, lets at least keep the teams even. (Though, with a larger-than-average amount of kids, it wouldn't matter too much. Having six kids vs. having seven kids isn't a big deal to me. I always say six, but when I name my "ideal family", there are seven because there's a set of twins).

I have a younger sister and we fight ALL the time! Then, my dad has three kids (way older than me and my sister) from a previous marriage so whenever they come over on holidays or in the summer, they begin a full blown-out sibling rivalry (usually it'll match up to be the girls against the boys and since there's three girls, we always win smiling smiley So anyway, I think that Charliella's right: there's disadvantages and advantages no matter the number (Whew!
